GOOD RIDDANCE On Nov. 2nd To Dishonest Warmonger-in-Thief G.W. Bush!
2004-09-30 18:37:29 EST

Just heard it on th radio, so I don't have the vote count yet.
But the loathsome and hateful Bigotry Amendment that RRR cultists
have been seeking for the purpose of DENYING the right to marry,
to same-sex couples, has just been DEFEATED in the House of
Representatives.

So -- KUDOS to BOTH of the houses of Congress!! First the
Senate, and now the House, have **both** had the intelligence,
compassion, and fairness to just say "NO!!!" to mindless bigotry!

Both had the ineptitude such that they failed to represent their
constituents.
This is another example of taxation without representation.

Wrong again -- as you ALWAYS are, ignorant dolt of a bigot.

(And you're too DUMB to even realizr this has nothing to do with
taxation. Except, perhaps, for the more EQUITABLE distribution of
the funds ALREADY being assessed.)

This is a REPUBLIC, and even if the majority were absolutely
wrong-headed about an issue, the *purpose* of our electing
representatives to enact our legislation is in the hope that by so
doing, ENOUGH of those elected will make RESPONSBLE and
SENSIBLE decisions in behalf of the nation.

In this case -- as happens *most* (albeit not all) of the rime,
that system worked WELL.

A good example of where the people were dead wrong is America
just before 1967. The vast majority of Americans (some say as much
as 97%!) were personally opposed to interracial marriage. The U.S.
Supreme Court -- years AHEAD of the curve in its egalitarianism, as it
usually is -- sensibly SCRAPPED all of the hateful and nonsensical
so-called "miscegenation" laws that still were in existence -- in '67.

And you know something? By 1968, hardly anyone in America
even GAVE a rat's ass about that anymore. Today, almost every-
one thinks nothing at all of interracial marriage. It's taken for
granted, and only a handful of abysmally-ignorant bigots cares
one whit about that.

More than likely, the SAME **very welcome** outcome will occur
very soon for same-sex couples.

So whether it is from Congress, or from the Supreme Court, the
majority of our representatives, and the judiciary that they appoint
are *usually* very ASTUTE people who stand up FOR our individual
liberties. ESPECIALLY when those liberties are under attack by
loathsome and sociopathic BIGOTS who have ***NO FACTS***
going for them.

(Of course, since YOU are one of the latter, and therefore a
DOLT, Wentzky, I don't expect any of the above to mean anything to
you. But maybe it'll be helpful to some fence-sitters who read this.)

Funny how it's "good government" when they vote as *you* dictate, but they're
failing to represent their constituents when they don't, eh?

And by STANDING UP for individual liberties of their constituents,
far MORE than enough of them had the intelligence, compassion,
common sense and wisdom to DO just that. The did their job WELL.
As they do EVERY time that they defeat bigotry.

They failed.
It is as simple as that.

Why were they in the minority then?
And, why are the liberties you are alluding to not written in civil rights
legislation?

Interesting that before the war and after, GWB didn't even have the balls to
assemble his cabnet, head down to the house of commons/congress, and allow
the members to ask president and ministers questions relating to the war in
Iraq.

Hence the reason I go right back to the whole flaw with the US presidential
system where by the president isn't held to account until he made too much
damage.
