There is no reason to stop eating meat altogether. People who eat it
should probably eat less of it. If the price incorporated all the costs
of producing the stuff - currently, it doesn't - then people who eat it
/would/ eat less of it, because the price would be higher. Two things -
at least - would result:

1. Less environmental degradation - a good thing. It is true that
under current livestock husbandry conditions, raising livestock
for human use causes great environmental damage. Reducing the number
of animals produced and consumed would reduce the amount of
environmental damage.

2. Fewer animals would "get to experience life". This, of course, is
meaningless.

yes i have been considering the
price factor lately, not from
this angle but still. we don't
pay anywhere what life is worth.

and i agree, i might look v far
ahead, and i might even alter
the future fictionally to suit
me (but what future isn't) but
at this time and even in future
i still see meat has its place.

people over do it and could do
with more conscious consumption.

well i hardly think killing animals
to save the environment makes a
very stable long term decision,
and if the best we human geniuses
can do is kill stuff to save stuff
i think we're being quite primitive.

someone took their mothers sayings
about life is precious, life is a gift,
and so on a little bit too far!
